Privacy Policy
Effective August 19, 2026
This page describes what information Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, in Wichita, Kansas, collects through this website, its text message sign-up, and its faith formation (religious education) registration process, and how that information is used.
Information we collect
When a family registers for faith formation — online or in person at the parish office — we collect the parent or guardian's name, mailing address, phone number, and email address; each child's name, date of birth, and grade; and, where applicable, information about a child's baptism, First Communion, or Confirmation for sacramental recordkeeping.
If you choose to opt in to text messages, we also record your phone number, which topics you agreed to (faith formation updates, parish news, or both), and the date you agreed. If you sign up on our text message page rather than through registration, your phone number and the date you agreed are the only information we collect.
How we use it
We use this information to run the faith formation program: processing registrations, maintaining sacramental records, and communicating with families about classes, schedules, and registration.
If you have opted in, we also use your phone number and/or email to send occasional text messages or emails about faith formation classes or general parish news. We only send the topics you agreed to receive.
Text messaging
There are two ways to opt in. Families registering for faith formation — online or in person at the parish office — may choose faith formation updates, parish news, or both. Anyone may also sign up on our text message page without registering for a program or creating an account; those sign-ups receive parish news only.
Text message consent is optional and is never required to register a child for faith formation. Each topic (faith formation updates, parish news) is a separate choice, and you may agree to one, both, or neither.
Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or ask for help by replying HELP. See our Terms & Conditions for the full text-messaging program terms.
Sharing your information
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
We share sacramental information with the Diocese as required for sacramental recordkeeping. To deliver the messages you asked for, we pass your phone number or email address to the service provider that carries them for us (for example, our email and SMS providers), acting only on our instructions and only for that delivery. That is not sharing for marketing or promotional purposes, and those providers do not receive your information for any purpose of their own.
Cookies
This site uses a small cookie to remember which language (English or Spanish) you last chose, so you don't have to select it again on every page. Parish staff who sign in to manage records use a separate sign-in cookie. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Children's information
Information about a child is provided to us by that child's parent or guardian as part of enrolling the child in a parish program. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children through this website.
How long we keep it
Sacramental records are retained permanently, consistent with the Church's recordkeeping practices. Contact information used for text messages or email is kept until you opt out or ask us to remove it.
Your choices
You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. You may ask us to correct your family's contact information, or ask a question about this policy, by contacting the parish office at parish@wichitacathedral.com or (316) 263-6574.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
